Richard Tuttobene

Richard Tuttobene composes music for film, television and concerts. His wide stylist range can be appreciated by comparing his dark, orchestral score for the thriller, "After Image" starring John Mellencamp and Louise Fletcher, with the quirky southern rock score for "The Shipment," starring Matthew Modine and Elizabeth Berkley. Tuttobene is a titan of Nickelodeon's golden era, having worked on hundreds of episodes for the network. Hit live-action comedy series that Richard bolstered include "All That," "Kenan and Kel," "The Amanda Show," and "Sports Theater with Shaquille O'Neal."

In addition, Tuttobene's music be heard in History Channel's "Ancient Aliens," and "America's Book of Secrets," Bravo's "Millionaire Matchmaker," Discovery's "Ghost Asylum," and Investigation Discovery's "Hardcover Mysteries," among others. His documentaries include, ESPN's "Unstrung" and CNN's "Silicon Valley: The New Gold Rush."

Richard also has extensive concert experience, having composed Tuzz's Shadow which was recorded by Warren Bernhardt and Bob Mintzer and performed live by Steely Dan, the experimental piece, Synchronic, performed by the Whole Bean Woodwind Quintet, Svetovid, his 2016 piano trio performed by members of the New York Philharmonic and Bang On A Can, CFLF, written for and performed by The Talujon Percussion Ensemble, and The Great Noon Is Near, performed by the Brooklyn Brass Quintet. 

Most recently, Richard completed a work commissioned by the legendary Roger Wagner Chorale for their Japan/Korea Tour. He's currently producing singer/songwriter Brenda Varda's latest album, collaborating on new music with The Phillip Glass Ensemble's, Andrew Sterman, and revising his re-score of the Dadaist 1924 silent film , Entr'acte for live performances at numerous modern art museums in the U.S.

Tuttobene moved from New York City to Los Angeles after a long and successful career as a recording and touring pianist to focus on a career as a composer. His experience as a session player, in which he was called on to play a very broad range of musical styles, as well as his formal classical training, has given him the drive to continually accept and explore new and diverse musical challenges.
